Be wary of ‘fake nutritionist advice’…

Theres a growing number of personal trainers/bloggers who have completed a quick online nutrition course and advertise themselves as providing nutrition advice.  Please be wary of following guidance other than those who have taken an accredited course thereby ensuring they have the necessary training in place to be qualified.

I recommend you choose a Registered Nutritional Therapist who is a member of  BANT (The British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy). BANT are regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) and will ensure that the nutritionist is properly trained, qualified and insured.

Recently, at my local gym, a personal trainer gave me a suggested meal plan and I was shocked!  This ‘one-size-fits-all’ diet plan was high in dairy, wheat and red meat.  Its scary to think that this diet could be in the hands of people with intolerances, gluten sensitivity, autoimmune diseases, diabetes, elevated cholesterol etc with the potential to do some serious harm.

As a member of the nutrition bodies BANT and CNHC, I take into account individuality and any dietary advice is based on the most up to date research to provide the highest standard of knowledge.  After an in-depth consultation on all aspects of your health, body and mind, I can then put together an individual, unique protocol for you to get to the root cause of the problem.

We’re all completely distinctive and respond differently to changes in diet and lifestyle.  Some foods are more healthful to you than others.  Please do your research and choose wisely. If someone offers you a standard diet plan, you can be sure this isn’t tailored to your needs.
